πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

On July 13, 2026, at 3:20 a.m., Luis Vazquez Del Angel was struck by a vehicle while walking near eastbound I-82 south of Union Gap, Yakima County. The driver fled the scene, leaving Vazquez Del Angel with serious injuries. WSP Detectives say the vehicle was a 2020-2025 Ford F-Series pickup with front or driver-side damage.

WSP is seeking witnesses to the July 13 collision or anyone who saw Vazquez Del Angel walking on the freeway that morning. Det. Patrick Lockwood can be contacted at (509)249-6743 or the WSP tip line at (509)249-6700.

A separate WSP investigation led to the arrest of Michael A. Rees, 34, of Port Orchard, for allegedly planning to pay a mother $1,000 to facilitate sexual contact with her juvenile daughter. Rees was arrested following an undercover operation that began in May 2026 and culminated in a June 25 meeting at a Tacoma hotel.
