I-405, I-5 closures for construction

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Starting Thursday evening, Sept. 3, up to two lanes of southbound I-405 will close from milepost 12 to Coal Creek Parkway Southeast until 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4. The closure affects a stretch near Tacoma.

WSDOT also announced overnight closures for I-5 near Alger/Lake Samish Road (exit 240) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through Sept. 4. A separate I-5 lane closure north of North Lake Samish (exit 246) will run nightly from Aug. 30 through Sept. 4.

The agency states these closures support fish passage construction projects and utility work, with some projects extending through September 10. Drivers should expect delays and follow detour signs.
