Multiple I-405 and I-5 lanes will be closed for construction this week, according to WSDOT. Southbound I-405 from milepost 12 to Coal Creek Parkway will close overnight Sept. 3-4. Northbound I-405 from milepost 11.5 to 13.7 will close nightly from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. I-5 near Alger/Lake Samish Road (exit 240) will reduce to one lane nightly from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4 for fish passage work.
I-5 north of North Lake Samish (exit 246) will have the left lane closed nightly through Sept. 4 for fish passage construction. State Route 527 will close the right lane overnight Aug. 31-Sept. 1. State Route 4 will have a single lane closed weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sept. 11 for gas line work. WSDOT advises drivers to slow down and watch for flaggers.
These closures are part of ongoing construction projects including fish passage improvements and utility work. Drivers should plan for delays, especially during overnight and weekday work hours. The fish passage project on I-5 is scheduled to continue through Sept. 10 at exit 240.
