I-5 and SR 512 closures scheduled for Sept. 8-11

Multiple road closures and lane restrictions are scheduled for Tacoma area highways starting this week, according to Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) records. The Port of Tacoma Phase 2 project will cause lane closures on northbound I-5 from East 28th Street in Tacoma to 20th Street East in Fife through August 2027. A temporary closure of the northbound I-5 off-ramp to Port of Tacoma Road (Exit 136B) will occur from 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 to 2 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. Detours will be via Exit 137 to 54th Avenue to 20th Street. Additional closures include a ramp closure on SR 512 in Puyallup from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, and lane closures on I-5 and SR 599 during the weekend of Sept. 10-11. The longest closure is on SR 515 from Sept. 8-18 for southbound lane work.
