I-90, I-405 work to impact Tacoma traffic

Starting Monday, Aug. 3, and continuing through the week, several major roadways in Tacoma will see closures and traffic changes for construction and safety work. The eastbound I-90 off-ramp to Factoria Boulevard will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, Aug. 7, and again from Sunday, Aug. 9, through Friday, Aug. 14. The northbound I-405 off-ramp to Coal Creek Parkway Southeast will be closed from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, until 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10. Additionally, the Northeast Sunset Boulevard on-ramp to northbound I-405 will close during the same overnight period. These closures are for guardrail installation and ramp improvements. Other work includes alternating one-lane traffic on SR 243 near Mattawa and SR 411 near Lexington Avenue, both starting Aug. 3. SR 291 remains eastbound only due to an evacuation order as of Aug. 1. WSDOT says signed detours will be in place for all closures.
