Man Hides in Pool During Chase

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

On August 13, a 37-year-old man fled police by jumping fences and climbing roofs before hiding under a pool cover in Tacoma's 7000 block of South M Street.

Deputies tracked the suspect using a Washington State Patrol airplane after he sped away during a traffic stop for an invalid registration. After 20 minutes, deputies pulled him from the pool and arrested him for felony eluding.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office reported the incident as part of a multi-agency auto theft task force operation. The vehicle was not stolen, but the suspect refused to stop despite multiple commands.

The man was booked into Pierce County Jail for eluding and obstruction.
