Pierce Transit will launch special express bus service to the Washington State Fair beginning Sept. 4, operating six days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The service includes two routes: the Lakewood Station Route for weekdays and weekends, and the South Hill Circulator for weekends only, with stops at Lakewood Station, SR-512 Park & Ride, and South Hill Mall Transit Center.
Fares will be $2 for adults, $1 for seniors and disabled riders with reduced fare passes, and free for youth 18 and under. Regular Pierce Transit routes 4, 400, 402, and 409 will serve stops near the fairgrounds, though Route 400 runs Monday–Friday only. Pierce Transit will also temporarily close TCC and SR-512 Park & Ride lots for maintenance on Aug. 26–28 and Aug. 31–Sept. 3.
