Pierce Transit will implement schedule improvements to many bus routes starting Sunday, Aug. 30, as part of its twice-yearly update. Changes include better connections at high-transfer stops, alignment with school schedules, and adjustments to Route 400 for Sounder train coordination.
The transit agency will also offer special Fair Express service to the Washington State Fair, operating six days a week from Sept. 4-27. The service runs every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. with two routes: Lakewood Station Route and South Hill Circulator (weekends only). Regular fare is $2, with $1 for seniors/disabled/Medicare holders and free rides for youth 18 and under.
Park & Ride closures for maintenance will affect TCC Park & Ride (Aug. 26-28) and SR 512 Park & Ride (Aug. 31-Sept. 3), but bus service will continue during closures. Pierce Transit will also provide free rides to cooling centers Aug. 4-7 for residents seeking relief from high temperatures.
