On July 27, a man violently assaulted and kidnapped a woman on Pacific Avenue South in Tacoma, tearing her clothing and forcing her into a vehicle, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Office records.
Deputies located the victim nearby and rescued her, but the suspect fled. After a two-day search, deputies arrested the suspect on July 29 after identifying him as a passenger on I-5. The suspect was seated in the back of a vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.
The Domestic Violence Unit is leading the investigation into the violent kidnapping, which involved a suspect who was not identified in the report.
