Three men were arrested following a drive-by shooting at the Duo Apartments in University Place early on July 3. A 19-year-old, 21-year-old, and 22-year-old were taken into custody by Tacoma Police after deputies pursued a Dodge Charger traveling over 100 mph. The vehicle was located near Titlow Beach, where the suspects were detained.
The 19-year-old faces two counts of drive-by shooting and one count of possessing a stolen firearm. The 21-year-old is charged with one count of drive-by shooting. The 22-year-old was charged with one count of drive-by shooting and possessing improvised explosive devices, including "tennis ball bombs" found in his belongings. No victims or property damage were reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m. on July 3. Deputies responded to reports of gunshots fired from a Dodge Charger at the Duo Apartments, then witnessed additional shots while speaking with a victim. The pursuit ended with the suspects' arrest after they were found near Titlow Beach.
