University Place deputies pursued a Dodge Charger traveling over 100 mph after it fired shots at the Duo Apartments in University Place on July 3 at 1:10 a.m., according to Pierce County Sheriff's Office records. The vehicle was later located by Tacoma Police near Titlow Beach, where three menβ€”19, 21, and 22 years oldβ€”were detained. The 19-year-old faces two drive-by charges and a stolen firearm charge. The 22-year-old was charged with drive-by and possessing two 'tennis ball bombs,' improvised explosive devices. No victims or property damage were reported.

A separate incident on July 1 at 2:45 a.m. involved a 38-year-old man arrested for resisting arrest and unlawful firearm possession after a traffic stop on Steele Street South.
